MJT Mini Tour stop in Selkirk qualifies golfers for National 12U Championship

Tournament Highlights:
- The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) hosted the MJT Mini Tour at Selkirk Golf & Country Club in Selkirk, MB, on July 4, where golfers aged 12U played through another rainy summer day. The MJT Mini Tour in Manitoba is hoping to build on the success of the Mini Tour in other provinces which has shown how competitive opportunities for 12U is helping grow the game.
- Division winners in the tournament who had not already qualified at previous events for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship at Tsawwassen Springs in Tsawwassen, British Columbia, this August, were Ryan Small, Forrest Wiebe, and Xavier Delaquis.
- Zavier Delaquis, 11, of Winnipeg, MB, took the MJT Boys 11-12 division with a strong round of 76, winning his first MJT title.
- In a close battle for first, Forrest Wiebe, 9, of MacGregor, MB, won the MJT Boys 9-10 division title by one stroke.
- In the MJT Girls 9-10 division, Maisy Shewchuk, 9, of Winnipeg, MB, came out to shoot a fine 85, and Ryan Small, 8, of Winnipeg, MB, played in MJT Boys 8U where he shot 92.
- The Closest to the Pin award was won by Lance Chaloner, 11, of Winnipeg, MB.
