Players qualify for MJT Mini Tour National Championship at Estevan stop despite weather; four win prizes from PGA of Saskatchewan

Tournament Highlights:

• The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) hosted the MJT Mini Tour at Estevan Woodlawn Golf Course in Estevan, SK, on July 2, which was shortened to a nine hole event due to weather.  
• Division winners who had not already qualified at previous events for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship at Tsawwassen Springs in Tsawwassen, British Columbia, this August, were Hudson Deibert, Keaton Kreklewich and Caydin Karst.
• Four lucky players were randomly selected to each receive $100 towards lessons with a PGA Professional courtesy of the PGA of Saskatchewan: Everett Berjian, Ryder Bourassa, Ayden Melsted and Brooks Cote.
• Caydin Karst, 11, of Assiniboia, SK, and Tylan Wallin, 11, of Humbolt, SK, tied for the lead in the MJT Boys 11-12 division with scores of 39 for nine holes.
• Kathy Han, 12, of Saskatoon, SK, fought it out for first place in the MJT Girls 11-12 division, taking the division title by one stroke.
• Keaton Kreklewich, 10, of Melville, SK, won the MJT Boys 9-10 division title by two strokes. He added a Closest-to-the-Pin award to his prize collection.
• Hudson Deibert, 7, of Regina, SK, topped the MJT Boys 8U podium in a dominant nine hole round, creating a 10 stroke gap between him and the next competitor.
• Alyxa Melsted, 9, of Wynyard, SK, came out to shoot 55 for nine holes in the MJT Girls 9-10 division.
