134 young golfers turn out for MJT‘s Elk Ridge stop where Pochylko’s fine play continues

Tournament Highlights:
- A fantastic turn out of 134 young golfers took part in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s 12U and 19U stops at the beautiful Elk Ridge Resort in Waskesiu, SK, this past weekend. The one-day MJT Mini Tour for 12U played out on August 13, and the MJT-Golf Saskatchewan OOM Series for 19U juniors on August 13 and 14, despite three weather delays affecting the final day of the tournament. Results of the 19U event are highlighted below.
- Continuing his fine play after rounds of 65, 66 vaulted him to a Top 10 finish in the recent Canadian Junior Boys Championship, Chase Pochylko, 18, of Saskatoon, SK, went low to shoot 70,72=142 (-2) to win the MJT Junior Boys division and low overall boys title.
- Fifteen-year-old Dane Giesbrecht, of Warman, SK, won his first MJT Juvenile Boys title with rock-solid scores of 72,76=148.
- In the MJT Girls 15-19 division, Julianne Burlet, 16, of Edmonton, AB, made the trip to the event worth her while by notching her first MJT victory with scores of 92,95=187.
- Grace Odnokon, 12, of Saskatoon, SK, carded 82,87=169 for a six-stroke victory in the MJT U15 Girls division, securing her second title this season.
- A three-way tie for first at 162 total score forced a playoff in the MJT Bantam Boys division, in which Ryan Mosher, 14, of Saskatoon, came out on top, forcing fellow Saskatoon players Brady Guenther and Aricin Franklin to settle for second place.
- Austin Nesbitt, 11, of Pilot Butte, SK, edged out another victory in the MJT Peewee Boys division, taking his third title this season after firing 76,84=160.
- MJT Long Drive, Closest to the Pin and Booster Juice Bounceback award winners are posted on the website.
