Close to 150 juniors play MJT’s Moon Lake stop; locals Pochylko and Odnokon win Low Overall titles

Tournament Highlights:
- Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, stopped in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on July 25-26, hosting both Mini (12U) and Junior (U19) Tour stops with close to 150 competitive young golfers taking part altogether.
- In the Junior Tour event, the MJT-Golf Saskatchewan Order of Merit (OOM) Series at Moon Lake Golf and Country Club, a packed field competed for titles in six divisions through some stormy weather.
- Chase Pochylko, 18, of Saskatoon, fired outstanding rounds of 67-71=138 (six under par) in his hometown to take first place by one stroke for his second victory of the year on the MJT Saskatchewan circuit. Close behind was a three-way tie for second place in this highly competitive division.
- Darien Herlick, 16, of Weyburn, SK, won the MJT Juvenile Boys division title by one stroke with strong rounds of 73-73=146, also securing his second MJT victory of the 2022 season.
- Finishing with scores of 82-88=170, Saskatoon’s Grace Odokon, 12, won the MJT Girls U15 division and low overall Girl’s title by nine shots.
- After a close battle, Ryan Mosher, 14, of Saskatoon, edged out a one stroke victory in the MJT Bantam Boys division.
- Lucas Sturgeon, 12, of Saskatoon, shot 73-77 for another win in the MJT Peewee Boys division title.
- T’Kayah Sim, 16, of St. Walburg, SK, came out to shoot back-to-back rounds of 106 in the MJT Girls 15-19 division.
