MJT–SAIT Trojans Classic fields 92 competitors at Turner Valley with a tie for low overall score

Tournament Highlights:
- The Maple Leaf Junior Tour hosted 92 players in the MJT-SAIT Trojans Classic at Turner Valley Golf Club in Turner Valley, AB, on August 4 and 5. Winners were crowned in six divisions and there was a tie for the low overall score in the SAIT Trojans-sponsored event.
- In the MJT Junior Boys division, Christian Hansen, 18 of Okotoks, AB, fired rounds of 75-73=148, for his second victory of the MJT season. Hansen also tied for the low overall boys score with Charlie Gillespie in the MJT Juvenile division.
- Great rounds of 73-75=148 by Gillespie, 15, of Calgary, AB, saw him defend his MJT Juvenile division title by two strokes, his third win of the year on the MJT circuit.
- In the MJT Girls 15-19 division, Jayla Kucy, 16, of Camrose, AB, came away with the win as well as the low overall girls score in the event with solid rounds of 77-74=151.
- Lyndon Kuryvial, 14, of Taber, AB, was the MJT Bantam Boys winner after shooting rounds of 74-75=149.
- Another MJT podium appearance was made by Jayden Arnold, 11, of Calgary, AB, who won the MJT Peewee Boys title by six strokes (78-74=152).
- Kali Yeske, 13, of Calgary, AB, won the MJT Girls U15 division title after a strong second round vaulted her into the lead for a one stroke victory (83-74=157).

When I start to feel any pressure during my game, I just make sure that I keep my breathing routines going and try to not think of my score. My irons were feeling dialed in so that was a nice highlight this week and getting a par on hole ten was great too.”
