Two more qualify at MJT’s Meadow Gardens stop for MJT Team West in the National Team Challenge

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number one-played junior tour, hosted over 80 golfers at Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows, BC, on June 11 and 12.

Two players earned spots on MJT Team West in the National Team Challenge presented by Freedom 55 Financial and the province of Ontario at Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, this September – Tina Jiang and Manny Lalh.

Tina Jiang, 17, of Richmond, BC, shot excellent scores of 72-71 (143) to win both the MJT Girls 15-19 and Low Overall Girls titles in style.

Fifteen year-old Manny Lalh of Nanaimo, BC, claimed the MJT Juvenile and Low Overall Boys titles with solid scores of 75-70 (145).

Sky Sun, 13, of Richmond, BC, followed up an outstanding opening round of 69 with a 77 (146) en route to a four stroke victory in the MJT Bantam Division.

Rose Chen, 13, of Langley, BC, won the Girls U15 Division by two strokes with consistent rounds of 79-80 (159).

In the MJT Peewee Boys Division, 12-year old Ethan Zhong of Surrey, BC, claimed his first MJT title after posting rounds of 79-75 (154) to win by two shots over his nearest competitor.

It took a playoff to decide the MJT Junior Boys winner, in which Sirrus Adolph, 19, of Lillooet, BC, beat Terry Xie of Surrey, BC, for the title.
