Hole-in-one highlights MJT Chad Hippsley Real Estate Classic at Morgan Creek

Tournament Highlights:

• The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number one-played Junior Tour, hosts over 100 top golfers in the highly anticipated MJT Chad Hippsley Real Estate Classic at Morgan Creek Golf Course in Surrey, British Columbia, April 9-10.
• The tournament features an astounding $25,000 hole-in-one competition on hole 3 provided by sponsor Chad Hippsley Real Estate.
• While no one aces hole 3, Jessica Zhao, 17, of West Vancouver, BC, makes a hole-in-one on hole 16!
• Lightning and a storm delays play on day two, and young golfers battle windy (yet sunny) conditions.
• More stellar play comes from Matthew Wilson, 15, of Nanaimo, BC, who claims his second MJT Juvenile Boys title of the season with rounds of 75-72 (147) en route to tying for the Low Overall Boys positon with MJT Junior Boys winner, Danny Im, 17, of Langley BC (74-73=147).
• Wilson qualifies for the Junior America’s Cup Team BC along with Eric Joo of Coquitlam, BC; Im qualifies, along with Joo, for the MJT ATB Future Stars Invitational in Edmonton, AB, this June. Several players are shortlisted for the IMG Junior World Championships in San Diego, CA. The finalists will be chosen once qualifying finishes across the country.
• A playoff determines the winner of the MJT Bantam Boys division as Michael Li, 14, of Burnaby, BC, who earns one AJGA PBE Star.
• Two 14-year-old girls, both playing up a division in MJT Girls 15-19, tie for the lead and for Low Overall Girls Champion with excellent scores. YangLing (Elaine) Liu, 14, of Vancouver, BC, fired 80-73 (153) to take the trophy based on Countback over Ha Young Chang, 14 of Surrey, BC, who shot 76-77 (153).
