MJT caps off successful Ontario season with Fall Classic presented by Freedom 55 Financial at Galt Country Club

Cambridge, ON – (October 5, 2021) – The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, Canada’s number-one played junior golf tour, capped off its successful 2021 Ontario season in Cambridge with the MJT Fall Classic presented by Freedom 55 Financial at Galt Country Club on October 3 and 4.

The MJT Junior Boys Division saw 17-year-old Andrew Rouble, of Wellesley, ON, win another title after firing great rounds of 73 and 70 (143). Rouble’s play towards the end of the MJT season has been stellar, picking up four wins in five starts. “I felt confident going into this tournament as I have been playing well lately,” commented Rouble. Rouble will look to continue his success at the national level as he makes his way to British Columbia this week for the MJT National Championship presented by TaylorMade and adidas Golf. Komoka, ON, golfer Brent Schidowka, 18, recorded scores of 78 and 71 (149) to finish runner-up in the division.

The MJT Juvenile Boys Division winner was 16-year-old Dylan Weber, of Guelph, ON, who scored a pair of 73s (146) to take home the title by a three-shot margin. “I felt strong on the first day and I was looking to finally get a win on the MJT,” commented Weber. “It’s a great relief to get the win and give me some momentum for the (upcoming) MJT National Championship.” Recently announced 2021 MJT Ontario Order of Merit winner, Kaylan Lecompte, 16, also of Guelph, finished the division in second place with scores of 73 and 76 (149).

Ashton Rinaldi, 13, of Springwater, ON, carded a pair of 75s (150) to win the MJT Bantam Boys Division in convincing fashion. Rinaldi, who is playing in just his second year on the MJT Junior Tour in Ontario, earned his fourth career win with his performance at Galt Country Club. Kitchener, ON’s Xavier Bernier, 14, finished runner-up with scores of 80 and 79 (159).

Capping off an impressive season on the MJT was 12-year-old Brayden Card, who fired scores of 74 and 75 (149) to win not only the MJT Peewee Boys division but also the soon-to-be-announced MJT Peewee Boys Player of the Year award. The Cambridge local took advantage of his course knowledge, taking the title by three shots and earning his fourth MJT win of the season. Markham, ON, golfer Andy Dai, 11, continued his great MJT season, picking up a runner-up finish at Galt Country Club with scores of 77 and 75 (152).

Returning to the MJT since the 2019 MJT National Championship and reclaiming the top stop on the leaderboard in the Girls 15-19 Division was 17-year-old Peyton Costabile, of Ayre, ON. Costabile fired scores of 75 and 78 (153), adding to her impressive win record which dates to her days on the MJT Mini Tour in 2014. Burlington, ON, player Natasha Korman, 15, recorded scores of 82 and 88 (170) to finish the division in second place.

Cambridge local Alexis Card shot her way up to the top of the podium in the MJT Girls U15 Division, recording consistent scores of 78 and 78 (156). Card, who has slowly begun playing more and more on the MJT, made a breakthrough at her home course and picked up her first-ever MJT Junior Tour win. Toronto, ON, golfer Sadie Wu, 12, recorded rounds of 78 and 83 (161) to finish runner-up in the division.
