Luo wins MJT Mini Tour playoff at Burnaby Mountain stop

The MJT Mini Tour ran at Burnaby Mountain Golf Club in Burnaby, BC, on August 17th, where 12-year-old local Andy Luo won on the third playoff hole after tying with a score of 75 for the MJT Peewee Boys 11-12 division lead with Leo Harper, 12,  also of Burnaby.

"My putting and my irons," said Luo when asked for the reason for his victory in the tournament. "I feel really good (about winning) and enjoyed having a playoff with Leo Harper."

Cooper Humphreys, 10, of Lions Bay, shot 66 in the MJT Atom Boys 10 and under division to win by eight strokes. "I have been practicing a lot," he said afterwards. "My highlight was a chip-in two and I shot 30 on the back nine. I feel really good."

Michelle Liu, 8, of Vancouver, won the MJT Atom Girls division by two strokes with a score of 76, and Mai Hiyashi, 11, also of Vancouver, fired 79 to beat Stefanie Silva of Surrey for the MJT Peewee Girls title.

This tournament, the last in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour's Mini Tour Series this season, played out in great weather at Burnaby Mountain Golf Club, where players were treated to tee gifts, refreshments, Boston Pizza pizza and many great prizes.
