One Over Par Scores Dominate at MJT’s Carlisle Stop

For Immediate Release – Carlisle, ON – (October 14, 2012) – The Boston Pizza-presented Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour's MJT Ontario Falls Series teed off this past Saturday, October 13th, at Carlisle Golf Club in Carlisle. This event was the first of three on the MJT Ontario Fall One Day Series - the other two stops run in Cambridge and Paris on the next two consecutive Saturdays in October. The Series will conclude the most successful MJT Ontario season to date, and also crown MJT Cleveland Golf Order of Merit Champions in four different age divisions.

Matthew Chiasson, 17, of Cambridge, captured top spot shooting 73 in the MJT Boys 17-19 Division, claiming a six shot victory. “It feels good to win," said Chiasson. “I have been working hard on my game all year and it paid off today.” In the Boys 14-16 Division, Trevor Ranton, 15, of Waterloo, and John Boncoddo, 16, of Brantford, who were tied after regulation at 73, completed two playoff holes before darkness fell and were both crowned co-champions. Ranton said he 'felt great after this win, it is my last tournament of the year,' while Boncoddo was excited 'as I have not won since the beginning of the year, and it feels great.' In the Girls Division, 17-year old Alisha Corringham of Pickering played outstanding golf, firing 79 stating that, "coming down the stretch, I knew that I needed to play smart and make two more pars, basically focusing on one shot at a time.” 11-year old Dylan Henderson, of Waterloo, was low in the Boys 13 & Under Division (96), where his highlight was “the friends I met. Victory today was because I believed that I could win and I stayed focused."

In the Mr. Lube Long Drive Contest, winners in each division were Connor Munro of Etobicoke, Joel Albany of Georgetown, Mahir Omar of Mississauga, and Jennifer Yoon of Oakville, while the Sundog Eyewear Skills Contest winners were Bavake Sihota of Caledon, Thomas Hunt of Georgetown, Mahir Omar and Jennifer Yoon. Golftown Comeback Awards were won by Bavake Sihota, Greg Piper of Oakville, Mahir Omar and Diana McDonald of Kingston.
