Guelph, ON - (October 12, 2009) – The penultimate stop for the five-event Ontario One Day Series on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour played out in cool fall weather on Saturday October 10th at Guelph Lakes Golf Course in Guelph, where playoffs were needed to decide the champions of both the Boys 13 and under and Girls divisions, and Truman Tai once again took low overall score for the entire field.

Tai, 15, of Markham, fired 73 in very wet conditions to win his third Boys 14-16 One Day Series title, claiming dominance in this division for the series. Hanish Nagrani, 14, of Welland, and Shyamal Nagindas, 16, of Aurora, tied for second place three strokes back of Tai with a score of 76.

The Boys 17-19 title went to MJT newcomer Mac Boucher, 19, of Uxbridge, who fired 74 to beat runner-up Eric Lacroix, 18, of Napanee, by five strokes. Javier Diaz, 17, of Woodbridge, took third place in the group with a score of 80.

A burgeoning Girls division on the MJT saw a second win in as many starts for Emily Fitzgerald, 18, after she defeated Rachel Pollock, 15, in a playoff. Both girls had tied for the lead with a score of 84. Third place was claimed by Samantha Spencer, 13, of Georgetown, who shot 85.

Another playoff was in the Boys 13 and under division between 11-year-olds Mark Wodz of Scarborough and MJT newcomer Kyle MacDonald of Oakville after both players had tied for first place at 86. Wodz claimed his first MJT title. Max Clift, also 11, of Kitchener, placed third (87).

The divisional winners in the Mr. Lube Long Drive Competition were Jacob Lehman, 13, of Rockwood, Sean Carlino, 15, of Hamilton, Javier Diaz and Kirsten Degutis, 16, of Waterloo. The Sundog Skills competition divisional winners were Brendan Seys, 11, of Port Lambton, Truman Tai, Brett Kennedy, 17, of Kitchener, and Emily Fitzgerald.
