BC Junior Champion takes low overall at first MJT One Day Series event

Vancouver, BC – The first stop in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s special One Day Fall Series in Vancouver was held at Langara Golf Course this weekend, where BC Junior Champion Eugene Wong took overall medalist honours.

Wong, 15, of North Vancouver, shot 70 and won the Boys 14-16 division title by four strokes over both Michael Lawrence, 15, of Richmond, and Ryan Lloyd, 16, of Maple Ridge. Lawrence and Lloyd tied for second place with scores of 74. Fourth spot in the division went to a first-time player on the Tour, 15-year-old Brett Standerwick of Tsawwassen, who shot 77.

One stroke each separated the top three finishers in the Boys 17 and up division, with Jimmy Han, 17, of Surrey, taking the title with a score of 73. Bill Hole, 17, of Vancouver, placed second (74) and Preston Pierson, 17, of Langley, came third (75).
