Member Pledge Forms

To assist members of the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in traveling to, and participating in Tour events, we are pleased to provide the following suggestions and tools for fundraising by members.

100% of the funds you raise
will be credited toward your tournament entry fees!
NOTE: The Rules of Amateur Status stipulate that juniors may receive expenses from anyone providing the funds received do not exceed expenses for the event. All payments should preferably be made out to the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), noted for your expenses, and can be in the form of cheques, money orders or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Amex.)

a) APPROACH LOCAL BUSINESSES OR SERVICE CLUBS FOR SPONSORSHIP
A number of MJT members have raised hundreds of dollars for participation at local, national and international levels by approaching local businesses for sponsorship through a campaign which involves visiting businesses to deliver a request letter and telephone follow up.

To assist players interested in this fundraising option, we are attaching a sample letter you can personalize to the businesses you target. When visiting businesses, be sure to wear your MJT gear (hat, shirt) and be prepared to talk about the experience, benefits and future opportunities you receive through your participation in the MJT. A copy of your golf resume may also be beneficial.

b) APPROACH FAMILY, FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS FOR PLEDGES
Usually a great base of contacts to approach for support. Offering assistance to do some work in exchange could be a great bartering tool.

c) FUNDRAISER OF YOUR OWN INITIATIVE
Get creative and design a fundraising program of your own! From the traditional car wash and recycling fundraisers to something more golf-oriented like a "Closest to the Pin" competition at your local course where players contribute money for a chance to win a donated prize package you organize from local businesses, there are unlimited ways to off-set your expenses and increase the number of events that you compete in!

HOW TO SUBMIT DONATIONS FOR CREDIT TO YOUR ACCOUNT:
Members are responsible for forwarding all donations to the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour. Where requested, receipts will be issued by the MJT and emailed to the member to print and deliver to the sponsor.

Pledges by Credit Card can be faxed to 604-943-1743 for immediate processing.

Pledges by Cheque or Money Order must be mailed to the MJT with accompanying Pledge Form clearly stating the member's name. NOTE: Any NSF cheques will be returned to the member for follow-up and a $20 admin fee will be charged to the member's account due to bank and administration fees.
