International EventsMJT MAJOR QUALIFIERS AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS Since 2006, Travel Underwriters, one of Canada’s leading providers of travel and health insurance products and services, has been designated the Official International Events Partner of the MJT. Due to the nature of international events, amendments may occur. ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ FCWT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP This opportunity is made possible through a partnership with the Jim McLean/Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT), the second largest junior golf organization in the United States which presents over 60 nationally-ranked junior golf tournaments in the fall, winter and spring throughout the United States. The MJT will qualify 5 players, please click here for MJT details of the 2010 FCWT National Championship including qualifying tournaments, golf course, tee times and hotel details etc. ____________________________________________________________________________ The 58th East Aurora International Junior Masters Tournament (EAIJM) is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious junior events attracting players from South Africa, Mexico, France, Scotland, Japan, Colombia, Peru and the United States. The 2010 event is scheduled for June 28 - July 2. Members of the East Aurora Country Club extend their famous hospitality by billeting all tournament participants, plus taking care of meals and transport to and from East Aurora CC from Buffalo NY. First played in 1953, the tournament features 36 holes of Stroke Play to qualify for flights of Match Play. The Championship flight is reserved for the top 32 stroke play qualifiers. The EAIJM is part of the Polo Junior All-American Points Series, GolfWeek/Sagarin and Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings. Past contestants and winners of the event include PGA Tour regulars Billy Mayfair, Billy Andrade, Dudley Hart, Jeff Sluman, Joey Sindelar and Rory Sabbatini. The winner receives an invitation to the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, Polo Golf Junior Classic and the AJGA hp Boys Junior Championship and full AJGA exempt status. The top 4 results receive two AJGA exemptions and the top 8 receive one AJGA exemption. The 2010 Boys 16-18 Champion will receive 1 AJGA exemption. The 2010 Girls 13-18 Champion will also receive 1 AJGA exemption. The TJGT Barton Creek Holiday Classic is one of the most exciting events on the Texas Junior Golf Tour's schedule. Close to 200 players from 8 states and 4 countries compete in this very elite event. One of the highlights of the event for many parents and players was the Q&A on Monday night with Golfweek magazine’s Lance Ringler , a former college coach and the guy behind the Golfweek rankings, and the college coach Q&A on Tuesday night that included Lance and his wife Missy, the women’s coach at UNLV, along with coaches from Wichita State, Vanderbilt, and Bowling Green just to name a few. This event is attended by more than 30 College level coaches who are looking to recruit players to their schools. Some of the schools that were represented for the 2010 event were: Liberty, Rogers State University, Southwestern, Vanderbilt, Lubbock Christian, Bowling Green, UNLV, Hardin Simmons, Houston Baptist, University of Texas. The TOG World Championship has been an event where junior golfers from every Continent in the World including Africa, Europe, Asia, North, Central & South America, Caribbean, with as many as 62 Countries compete with each other and as many as 40 U.S. states attend. Many of the junior golfers who have participated have gone on to obtain golf scholarships, to colleges and universities like Stanford, UCLA, Xavier, Harvard, MIT, Michigan State, University of Miami every historical Black College, and many other top colleges and universities, and to the Professional Tours, to become PGA professionals or work in the golf industry. The event is held in NSW, Australia, from September 30th - October 8th, 2010 beginning with the inaugural Jack Newton International Team Challenge. The Team Challenge portion is a warm up to the Srixon International Junior Classic and will be 2-person Team format, with the first day best-ball format and the second day foursomes. The Srixon International Junior Classic is a 72 hole stroke-play event and will be played on 2 separate golf courses (TBA). The MJT will qualify a total of 6 players to compete in this major Australian junior golf event which is an incredible golf and life experience brought together “down under” in this once in a lifetime qualifier. The Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation was founded in 1986 to introduce more young people to the game and to nurture their skills and enjoyment of the sport. The 37th annual 36-hole tournament will be played on five golf courses in the Quincy, IL, area, on June 22-23, with a practice round on June 21. Also included in Pepsi Little People’s Golf Week are the optional Pepsi Parent-Child tournament on June 20, and the International Team Events on June 24 and 25. Pepsi Little People’s is ranked by the AJGA, National Junior Golf Scoreboard and GolfWeek/Titleist, and is a qualifier for the Callaway Golf Junior World. Age Division winners in the 2010 Pepsi Little People’s are exempt into the 2010 Optimist provided they meet the Optimist’s age division requirements. Maple Leaf Team Canada is aided by a non-playing Team Captain in the 54 hole tournament in Arizona, which is held in conjunction with the ASU Junior Classic on the Jim McLean/Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) . The FCWT is a Nationally recognized and highly competitive Junior Golf Tour which runs across the United States. Currently, they coordinate 50 events nationwide, and are regarded as one of the `Tours to Watch` for college level coaching to recruit from. The MJT will qualify 5 players across Canada for this exciting qualifier.
