Why Play MJT?

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) is "the Road to College Golf" in Canada. It is the only junior golf program in the country that offers free college golf consultations and an annual college golf consultation package award. In addition, players are exposed to college coaches via qualifiers for high-level junior golf tournaments.

MJT alumni include PGA Tour player Chris Baryla, Nick Taylor, who was ranked number one in the Golfweek World Amateur Golf Rankings in 2009, Eugene Wong, Junior World Champion 2008 and rated ‘Best Putter – College Player’ by Golf Digest in September 2010, Dustin Zhang, ranked the “Number One Freshman in the US” by GolfStat.com in January 2011, players on the Nationwide and Canadian Tours such as Devin Carrey, Mitch Gillis and Adam Hadwin (multiple winner), in addition to several Canadian Amateur and Junior Champions such as Darren Wallace, Mike Mezei, Kevin Klebe, Mitchell Fox, Eom Ji Park, In-Ah Park, Soo Bin Kim, etc.

The MJT supports academic goals with annual scholarship awards, and is also the only junior golf program in the country which supports alumni’s professional tour aspirations with the MJT Touring Professional Development Fund.

Over and above the high level competition, international opportunities, scholarships and awards, the MJT holds free clinics to introduce boys and girls to the game via the Ford Go Golf! Free Junior Clinics, and conducts the MJT Mini Tour for boys and girls ages 7-13, which introduces playing golf over 9 and 18 holes while teaching basic rules and etiquette.
