STERLING EMERY TOP FINISHER AT GREY SILO

Waterloo, ON - (August 12, 2009) - The 54 hole MJT stop at Grey Silo GC ran August 9-11 and saw Sterling Emery, 18, of Orangeville, claim the Boys 17-19 MJT Ontario Tour Championship crown and secure his third international exemption this season on the MJT, after previously qualifying for MJT Team Canada to both Scotland and Australia. Emery closed with an impressive two-under-par final, scoring 76-72-69 (217), holing out on number 14 for an eagle and making birdie on two of his last three holes. There were actually two eagles on that same hole during the tournament as Brett Kennedy, 17, of Kitchener, holed out from 77 yards for an eagle on day one. Top finishers in the other divisions were Kevin McDonald, 16, of Delhi, in Boys 14-16 (79-75-76); Brandon Raine, 13, of Caledon, (85-80-78) in Boys 13 and under; and Kirsten Degutis of Waterloo in Girls (86-89-89).
