MJT-MANITOBA PGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AT TRANSCONA GC PRESENTED BY BIEBER SECURITIES MOVES TO AUGUST 19-20
A conflict with the Manitoba PGA Wal-Mart Pro-Junior for Special Olympics on August 18th has resulted in a rescheduling of the MJT-Manitoba PGA Junior Championship at Transcona GC presented by Bieber Securities by one day, to August 19-20, 2008. In making this decision, Derek Ingram, MJT Tournament Director, says "The MJT's tournament is at the provincial championship level so we want to draw the best field possible. Many players were not able to play due to their involvement with the Pro-Junior so once Transcona GC confirmed the MJT event could be delayed by a day we were happy to help support the Special Olympics event with this decision. I also hope it will help draw more juniors to the 6th annual MJT-Manitoba PGA Junior Championship which features an exemption to the 2009 China Junior Open in addition to a host of tournament benefits."Players who have already registered will be contacted by email with regard to this change and are asked to confirm their attendance on August 19-20 a.s.a.p. Additionally, the MJT will now begin issuing invitations to Manitoba members for the MJT Boston Pizza National Tour Championship based on MJT Cleveland Golf Order of Merit points earned to date. Players who had hoped to qualify for the National Championship by playing their 3rd event at Transcona and who were prepared to make travel arrangements with very little notice are asked to email the MJT a.s.a.p. with their intentions so that this can be considered in determining the initial round of invitations.
