MJT Announces 2021 Herrendorf Family Foundation Scholarship Winners

 

Vancouver, BC – (November 1, 2021) – The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour, is pleased to announce the junior golfer recipients of the 2021 MJT Herrendorf Family Foundation scholarships.

The MJT scholarship program has benefitted an extensive alumni with their post-secondary endeavours for over 20 years. Courtesy the generosity of the Herrendorf Family Foundation, ten $1,000 scholarships were awarded to the following MJT members who demonstrated exemplary athletic, educational and personal achievements:

Harrison Seaman of Kentville, Nova Scotia, one of the selected winners, quoted, “It is an honour to receive the MJT Herrendorf Family Foundation scholarship. Golf has provided me with many opportunities to develop as a player and a person from focusing on goals to lifelong learning.  I have enjoyed the competition of the MJT tournaments over the years. I enjoyed meeting new friends and playing in tournaments with my sister and brother. I am excited to be able to use this scholarship towards my tuition at Acadia University as I begin my studies in community development next fall. I would like to thank the MJT selection committee and the Herrendorf Family Foundation for selecting me as a recipient of this award."

“What an amazing group of applicants were sent our way,” stated Marcus Rambold-Cohen from the Herrendorf Family Foundation selection committee. “We’d like to wish success and good luck to the ten players that we have chosen.”

In 2021, Herrendorf Family Foundation launched their wrap-around umbrella “We Got You”, which includes scholarships, emergency grants, support for mothers, contributing partnerships and community engagement.

About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada. The organization is supported by valued Premier, Tournament and Product Partners. The MJT hosts close to 90 events across Canada, including free Ford Go Golf Junior Clinics, the MJT Mini Tour for 12U and multi-day events for competitive players aged 11-19 which also offer qualifiers for international tournaments.
