Meadow Gardens Golf Course hosts free Junior Clinic plus Major Qualifier with MJT on May 6th weekend
PITT MEADOWS, B.C. - Meadow Gardens Golf Course will host the MJT G&G Golf Classic on May 6th and 7th - a major international qualifier on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada's only major junior tour run exclusively by Golf Professionals. In addition, the course is holding a free MJT Ford Go Golf! Junior Clinic on the Saturday, to introduce kids to golf.Entries to the MJT G&G Golf Classic are open to all boys and girls aged 10 through 23 who want to improve their game through competition. No registered handicap is necessary and players will compete in four divisions - boys 13 and under, boys 14-16, boys 17 and up, and girls. The $140 plus G.S.T. entry fee includes two rounds of golf, a free Champs cleats fitting by sponsor G&G Golf, range ball tokens, trophies, snacks, Boston Pizza pizza, many draw prizes, a Mr. Lube Long Drive and a Sundog Eyewear Closest-to-the-Pin Competition.
In addition, two players will win a spot on Maple Leaf Team Canada to Mexico, where the exclusive Canadian contingent of six boys and two girls will defend their title in the 5th International Junior Golf Team Matches in Cuernavaca this August. The remaining spots on the team will be selected at other MJT qualifiers across the country.
For beginners, the MJT Ford Go Golf! Junior Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and provides instruction by CPGA Professionals, as well as demo clubs, a gift, hot dogs and pop.
