WCJGT Invitational at the Air Canada Championship

The second annual WCJGT Invitational at the PGA Tour’s Air Canada Championship, presented by Knight Signs.

Venue: Canal Course, Northview Golf & Country Club, Surrey, British Columbia.

REGISTRATION NOTICE: Security is very tight this year at the ACC. You will not be able to get close to the golf course without the supplied parking pass, nor be able to get in the gate with your golf bag. Parking passes and tickets are to be collected as follows:

1. Monday, August 26-Wednesday August 28: from the WCJGT Registration tent at Peace Portal GC, 16900 4th Avenue, South Surrey. Hours: between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

2. Thursday August 29-Friday August 30: from Sean Richardson at Coyote Creek GC, 7778 152nd Street, Surrey, BC, Telephone 604-597-4653. Hours: between 9:00 am and 4 p.m.

So if you do not collect your passes and tickets at some time between Monday and Wednesday from Peace Portal GC, you will need to pick them up on either Thursday or Friday from Sean Richardson at Coyote Creek GC, which is 5 minutes drive from Northview GC.

Schedule of Events:
Saturday, August 31, 2002:
9:00 a.m. – noon: Player Registration at designated parking lot; Clubs/Bag drop. (Players must leave their clubs at Registration and can go and watch third round action of the ACC. Clubs will be shuttled to the Canal Course).
1:15 p.m.: Player Meeting 1st Tee, Canal Course
2:00 p.m. Shotgun Start
7:00 p.m.: Play completed
7:30 p.m.: PGA Tour Guest Speaker and refreshments: Diners Club Pavilion directly above the Northview practice putting green.

Sunday, September 1, 2002
6:00 – 6:45 a.m.: Player Registration
7:00: Player Meeting 1st Tee, Canal Course
7:30 a.m. Shotgun Start
12:30 p.m.: Play completed – watch final 9 holes of ACC
3:00 p.m.: Prize Presentation and Awards Ceremony to follow end of ACC – site TBA

Important:
• Players receive a complimentary ticket for Saturday and Sunday at the ACC, as well as VIP Parking passes. Children aged 17 and under accompanied by an adult are admitted free, thus parents can use these tickets. The WCJGT may have some extra tickets for the parent of players aged 18 and up which will be distributed first to players from out of town and then on a first-come-first-served basis. • Players also participating in the Boston Pizza Tour Championship at the beginning of the week will obviously be able to receive their tickets at Peace Portal GC.
• NO practice rounds, no range or putting green access at Northview. Closest golf facility with both range and chipping/putting areas is Coyote Creek, 7778 152nd Street, Surrey, BC, Telephone 604-597-4653.

Host Hotel: Travelodge Vancouver Airport (approx. 30 minutes from Northview G&CC) offering a $89 dbl rate for the tournament. Call 604-278-5155 and reference "Western Canada Junior Golf" to qualify. There are also a number of hotels located closer to Northview G&CC in the Surrey/Langley area – please reference the internet for selection.
