MJT ALUMNUS CARRIES OLYMPIC TORCH; MJT TO CELEBRATE INCLUSION OF GOLF IN THE 2016 OLYMPICS

MJT alumnus and poster boy in 2007, Nick Taylor, (picture by Rick MacDonald) a senior at Washington State and No. 3 in the Golfweek/ amateurgolf.com Player Rankings, carried the Olympic torch in his hometown of Abbotsford, BC, on February 7th. According to Golfweek, Taylor, a former Canadian Junior and Canadian Men’s Amateur champion, said, “It wasn’t quite what I expected. There were people out on the streets cheering. I was the next-to-last person to carry the torch before it entered into a stadium with 12,000-14,000 fans waiting.” Golf will be included in the Summer Olympics in 2016 and the MJT will celebrate this with gold, silver and bronze medals for top finishers on the tour in 2010.
