WELLINGS WRAPS SEASON IN STYLE ON MAPLE LEAF JUNIOR GOLF TOUR

Flamborough, ON ? The final 2004 event for the six-year-old Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) concluded this week at the Century Pines Golf Club in Flamborough, where the juniors enjoyed some good golfing weather and the last chance to try and qualify for the MJT National Tour Championship in British Columbia before the end of the summer season.

Jason Wellings from West Flamborough used his local knowledge to full advantage and claimed the low overall score as well as the Boys 17 and up division title.

?I hit the ball solid and managed to sink some putts on the second day,? said Wellings, who shot 77-69 for a 146 total score. ?I loved the course, conditions were great, and I was happy that I was able to come back from behind and finally put in a solid round.?
