Veterans take titles at MJT's Turtle Creek Series at Lacombe

Lacombe, AB – Veteran players on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) took the division titles in the recent MJT stop at Lacombe Golf Club, which was sponsored by golf apparel company, Turtle Creek Collection.

Perfect weather conditions were enjoyed by the competitive field in the two-day tournament, where the low overall score of 74-70 (144) was claimed by Gary Helgason, 17, of Edmonton.

“I played solid throughout – the last round was tight all day but I ended up with a few good breaks,” said Helgason, who also took the Boys 17 and up title. “This Tour gives me the chance to compete with the top juniors from around the province and it’s always nice to come out on top.”
