Mengel Cream of the Crop in MJT-CPGA Saskatchewan Junior Championship presented by Finora

Deer Valley, SK: Despite wind and pouring rain which almost threatened to shorten the tournament, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour?s (MJT) CPGA of Saskatchewan Junior Championship successfully concluded yesterday at Deer Valley Golf and Estates near Regina.

The event was sponsored by Finora, a substantial Canadian based supplier and processor of beans, peas and lentils, and the cream of the crop was undoubtedly young Dallas Mengel who won the Boys 13 and under division and low overall tournament score.

Mengel, 13, of Watrous, has competed on the MJT since age eight and is a member of the Maple Leaf Team to Scotland. He shot 76-71 for a 147 total score to win his division title as well as claim low overall score. Mengel also harvested both the Mr. Lube Long Drive and Sundog Closest-to-the-Pin competitions in his division.
