MJT CLEVELAND GOLF CANADA PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

and

MJT CLEVELAND GOLF CANADA SCHOLARSHIP


The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour and Cleveland Golf are pleased to announce the sixth annual MJT Cleveland Golf Canada Players of the Year and MJT Cleveland Golf Canada Scholarship Awards.

MJT Cleveland Golf Canada Players of the Year Awards - Presented to a player in each age group who plays in at least three MJT events in 2007; is a member in good standing; has the lowest stroke average in their division; and demonstrates good sportsmanship and conduct. Award is presented at the annual MJT Boston Pizza National Tour Championship in Whistler, British Columbia. Note: In case of a repeat winner the award is modified and defaults to the runner-up.

MJT Cleveland Golf Canada Scholarship – a $1,000 Scholarship to be awarded to one applicant who shows exemplary athletic, educational and personal achievements during the 2008 season and who meets the following eligibility requirements:

• Applicants must apply in writing to MJT, P.O. Box 18083, Tsawwassen, BC, Canada V4L 2B0 not later than September 30, 2008. Click here for 2008 Application Form

• Applications for consideration must be submitted with a complete Cleveland Golf Canada Scholarship Application Form (click here) along with the following items and information:

• High School or College/University Transcript showing marks for the 2007/08 school year.

• Summary of personal achievements including community involvement, leadership roles, extra-curricular activities, work and volunteer efforts.

• A good MJT stroke average and/or top finishes in MJT events.

• A 300-500 word essay on how you're becoming a champion - in golf, in life - through the merits of the sport of golf.

• Applications open to current MJT members who are Canadian residents and who have played in at least three MJT events in 2008.

• Applicants must be enrolled in High School, College, University or other post-secondary education program in Canada or the United States for the 2008/09 school term.

• Applicants with demonstrated financial need may receive priority. Proof of household income may be required, such as statement of earnings from employers.

• The Cleveland Golf Canada Scholarship will be paid directly to the educational institution of choice by the winner or to an R.E.S.P. account.
